UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan concluded an official visit to India on October 19-20, 2026, with both countries reaffirming the momentum of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah held delegation-level talks with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. The two ministers reviewed the partnership’s progress and expressed satisfaction at the steady advances across key sectors: trade, investment, energy, defence, technology and people-to-people ties.
They also noted Dr. Jaishankar’s recent productive visit to Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. The ministers exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest and agreed to keep up close and regular consultations.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the visit underscored both nations’ shared commitment to broadening and deepening bilateral cooperation.
Why it matters
The UAE is one of India’s closest partners in the Gulf, and the sectors named in the talks, from energy to defence to technology, reflect how wide the relationship has grown. The regular-consultations pledge signals that both sides want to keep the high-level channel active.
