Thane Police (Zone-2, Bhiwandi) organised a “Nasha-Virodhi Jan Jagrukta Abhiyan” (Anti-Drug Public Awareness Campaign) in the city, drawing enthusiastic participation from local children and youth.

The campaign underscored the urgency of protecting young people from drug abuse, with organisers and dignitaries alike stressing that sustained, community-driven awareness efforts remain central to building a drug-free society.

Safina Foundation students honoured for second and third place finishes; elected representatives and senior police officials lend support to campaign Bhiwandi.

Children from the Safina Foundation were felicitated for their strong showing at the event, securing second and third place respectively — a result that drew warm applause and congratulations from attendees.

The programme saw the presence of several prominent public figures, including Member of Parliament Suresh “Balya Mama” Gopinath Mhatre, MLA Mahesh Chaughule, Mayor Narayan Chaudhari, and senior officials of Thane Police, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the anti-drug cause.Speaking on the occasion, participants echoed the campaign’s central message: “Nashe Ko Na Kahen, Zindagi Ko Haan Kahen!” — Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life.

The ChangeMakers Magazine extends its full support to this vital initiative and calls on citizens of Bhiwandi to join hands in keeping the city’s youth safe from substance abuse.
